The Starter Workshop — Introduction to Sourdough

Step into the ancient, living practice of sourdough and learn to cultivate your own wild yeast from scratch. The Starter Workshop is a hands-on, heart-centered introduction to the art of fermentation, where flour, water, and time become something deeply nourishing and alive.

In this class, I will guide you through the foundations of building and maintaining a healthy sourdough starter. You’ll learn how to feed, read, and care for your starter, understand the rhythms of fermentation, and gain the confidence to begin your sourdough journey at home. This is about more than baking—it’s about connection: to your food, your intuition, and the slow, cyclical wisdom of nature.

Each participant will receive their very own sourdough starter—an extension of our beloved 6-year-old starter, Bertha—along with a thoughtfully crafted start-up booklet to support you every step of the way. You’ll leave with living culture in your…
